Yeongdong-gun is a county in North Chungcheong Province. it is know as the center of traditional Korean music (Gugak) since it’s the native town of one of the most greatest-ever musicians, Park Yeon (Nangye), a government official from Joseon period, which mastered a compilation of traditional court music at the order of King Sejong, the Great.
The region preserves the cultural heritage of this musical theorist, offering music production venues such as museums, cultural centers, experience programs and an annual Gugak festival.
